Extension Activities
Welcome to the academic extension activities page
Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel - "Socrates"... Plato's version
This page has been created for those of you who've completed your directed tasks and engaged with extension material from your subject teachers to reward your hard work and offer you new, exciting challenges and opportunities. There's an endless supply of activities and reading linked on this page, so each week there will be a spotlight, updated at the end of each week, of certain content just below this message to help you get started.
Weekly Spotlight - civilizations from around the world... you won't have heard of these!
There's an enormous amount of content linked in the PowerPoint below. University lectures, museum and gallery collections, virtual tours, subject specific reading and much, much more.
Navigate to "curious questions" posed by your teachers using the link below. These are short, thought provoking activities.
Lower School pupils still have their reading bingo challenge to complete! This runs for the whole academic year until July so there's still plenty of time to earn different prizes!
A range of short, online courses available from leading universities, organisations and employers... usually for free!
If that's not enough then you'll find even more opportunities below, divided into different subject areas with some overlap. Links to Russell Group and non-Russell Group university subject areas are interspersed below as well. Click the picture icons.
