Future employers will be extra impressed if you have upskilled during this time- it's the sort of thing that sets you above the rest. When I went for my PhD interview, they weren't really looking for a person straight out of uni, but I had, off my own back, got a job in a research lab in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for my last summer at uni. I was told that was the reason I got the PhD place.
Unfortunately, you can't do as I did in these times, but you can do some online courses, see below:
FutureLearn
They have pre-uni short courses such as the University of Leeds courses on:
-Anatomy
-Exploring cancer medicine
edX
They have short courses in a wide range of biological fields, such as:
- Sex from molecules to elephants
- Origins of the Human mind
- Nutrition, exercise and sport
- Earth optimism
- Gateway to medicine
- Nutrition and health -the microbiome.

-The biology of lactation

Khan academy

Not actual courses, but easy to follow lessons to take your knowledge to just beyond A level, so not too daunting. No certificate, but good to prepare you for next year.

Coursera
Good selection of courses, especially on medical topics.
Citizen Science
Get involved in these real, live research projects- it will really boost your future CV:
